Then I thought, I could write something like the above, get you totally off the track and then put in a little, little, little fool and you would not even be suspecting it. Well, I'm not gonna do either. I just don't feel like it. Now you are thinking..... is that a lie too? NO!!!
What I will do is show you my current piece mid construction and show you why it will be called

Falling Down #3. This is the basic block of the whole series. It is pieced and is constructed of eight pieces of fabric.

Here is a little quiltlet to show you that this piece is indeed composed entirely of the same block. There are ten such blocks in it. They need not be sewn together like little soldiers or even be the same size.

All of these blocks in the preliminary stage of Falling Down #3 are that same block, although some are over twice as large as the others.

Here is a trial to add another block that is considerably larger. It just didn't work.

So, now I am just playing (stressing, pulling my hair out, drinking heavily) with some other ideas. Can you see that little quiltlet on the left side?

Once again that little quiltlet will not let go. It sooooo wants to be in this piece. I am leaning more to soft colors. I was going to go from light to dark in this panel but have decided against it because it wouldn't flow as well.

And, now I gave given it the heave ho. This is what the final quilt will be like only with that space of nothing to be filled with around sixty more blocks. I guess I know what I will be doing in the very near future!!

Here, once again, is Falling Down #2 and it is all composed of the very same block.
This is the first in the series, Falling Down and, this will be shocking to find out but it too is made up of the very same block. We have overnight guests, Rich and Jayne Miller from Wheaton, Illinois, that we went to college with. We have big plans for the day, fishing being one of them along with that ever popular eating and drinking. It should be a good marvelous day.

Hi Tommy,
I love those quilts, do you make up the blocks as you go along like (free-hand) or do you have patterns/measurements etc.?
I am absolutely falling in line right behind you today. I love love love this series. It is like SEDUCTIVE.
Very nice quilt. I, too, wondered if you have a set pattern/measurments or if it is created freely?
