Want Some Ice Cream In That Float?

Here are a couple of highlights from our 4th of July parade. Look at how cute this planter with a hat on the top is. In the spirit of the season, it has a red, white and blue bow on it. I went to the parade with my sister and sister in law while the young folks got caught up on their beauty sleep. G and my brother Bill caught up with us later for the brats and beer we partake in every year.
Some of the jazzier floats this year include this wickedly 'Wicked' one. I have never seen the play so don't know some of the more subtle decorations.
Having seen '27 Dresses' several times, I had no problem with the finer elements of this float.
There is something about a float that portrays hot fun in the summer time that puts a smile on our faces. It ended up being a perfect day for the beach too. The water was a bit rough for water craft but other than that, it was a perfect day.

This 'Sound of Music' float won a trophy. The hills, snowflakes, mittens, brown paper packages and the whole Von Trapp family was portrayed . It was pretty darn funny. A great day was had by all.
