Cause A Stir

Every month we have a group of gals that get together for Cause A Stir Kitchen Club.  They can do anything that they want, having something to do with eating.  And as you know, we really love to eat.  This last get together was at Linda's house and she put together a taste test including handouts that need to be filled in and scored.  You can't take the teacher out of her!!!

The first group up was fruits.  I neglected to take pictures of the fruits all together.

This first one is called mangosteen and it needed an electric knife to get it open.  It was like cutting a piece of wood.

After it was open we realized why it was so difficult to sever.  It was old and rotten.  We googled it and it is supposed to be cream color.  It was actually hard to look at.  I think it was expensive too.

Next up was a mexican cream guava.  It was soft and tasty with a little honey drizzled on top.

I thought this one was lychee but it was a rambutan.  It was jelly like inside, which is the only edible part.

This ugly thing is a Jamaican fruit is called soursop  and used to flavor ice cream and cheesecake.

The inside is just as ugly and it has the consistency of smashed bananas.  I was Linda's sous chef so I didn't do the questionnaire but if I did, I would have failed miserably.

After the fruit came guessing seeds; that was easier.

Following seeds came nuts.  There was food for us to eat between each grouping.

Lastly, and because the next holiday is Halloween, the taste test to figure out what the piece of candy was, Snickers, Milky Way, Three Muscateers, Twix, and the last one I have forgotten.  It was lots of fun.
