Venice, Florida

We made it to Sharkys on the Pier in Venice yesterday. It took us awhile to find it, even tho'I had been there many many times before. Siri was not being cooperative at all nor was Claudia's GPS. We finally just got there the old fashion way, by looking and taking a chance.

We tried to get into Sharkys last fall but it was packed and then torrential rain came and although it was no longer packed, it was also not appealing anymore. We ended up inside in Fins next door and had a good view of all the scurrying patrons trying to find shelter. Sometimes other peoples trials and tribulations serve me well as entertainment. Bad me.

Sharky's is directly in front of a very long pier that some people fish off and others just like to walk the length of it.  Regina and I walked it a few years back but once is enough.  You tend to be looking over your shoulder for a fishing hook to come your way.

This is the whole reason for visiting the joint.  I literally have dreams of their Beach Bread.  And once again, it didn't let me down.  Everyone agreed with me.  Too good to pass up.

Next door to Sharky's is Maxine Barritt Park which is where our 'Airing Of The Quilts' will be taking place on Saturday, February 6th.  Once again our quilts will hang from clothesline at the pavilion and in between the trees.  The venue has food and fun and this year there will be stuff to buy that us Modern Quilt Guild members are happily making.  Put it on your calendars and join all of us for a fun day.
